‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrated in Guwahati

“Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” was celebrated by the North Eastern Regional Office, Guwahati of Engineering Projects (India) Limited (A Government of India Enterprise) on the theme “Traditional Folk Dance and Dance-Drama Programme” in Guwahati recently.

The Government of India has taken initiative to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.

“Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” is being celebrated on the themes on “Freedom Struggle”, Ideas@75, Resolve@75, Actions@75 and Achievements@75.

The event showcased the glorious history and culture of Northeast India. 

Dignitaries namely Sunil Deka, Chairman, Assam Trade Promotion Organisation, Anil Kumar Pankaj, Chief Engineer, BSNL, Paishuni Kumar, Executive Director, FCI, Shri B.N. Pandey, Executive Editor, Purvanchal Prahari and Ranjeeb Ray Barua, Executive Officer (Technical), FREMAA were present in the event. The program started with the lighting of lamp by TVN Rao (Regional Incharge) and the dignitaries. 

TVN Rao, Ratnesh Jain (GGM), Naiyer Azam, GM (Fin.), Utpal Patowary, AGM (Tech.) and Devidutta Dash, AGM (Tech) welcomed and felicitated dignitaries.

TVN Rao delivered the inaugural speech and spoke about the importance and objectives of organising an event on traditional folk dance and dance-drama. 

Artists from Sadhna, Theatre Agency performed on National Anthem, Group Song, Group Dance (Dedicated to Freedom Fighters), Mime, Patriotic Song, Traditional Folk Dance, Group Dance on Vande Mataram and Volunteers from Sonapur College also delivered performance on Classical Dance on Patriotic Song, Lalilang Dance and Bihu dance. 

Shailesh Sharma, Manager (HR) expressed his gratitude to TVN Rao and Senior Management for their kind guidance and support and he, also, showed gratitude towards his committee members for their invaluable contributions in making this event a grand success. 

In the closing speech, TVN Rao thanked dignitaries and audience for attending event and for witnessing the celebration of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. He congratulated the organising committee for the wonderful performance.
