Chicken Cooked with Sesame Paste

Chicken Sesame is a traditional Assamese chicken recipe which is cooked with black sesame paste. It is typically cooked with locally available country chicken. The rich nutty aroma of the sesame makes this recipe a very unique and flavourful.
Ingredients
Chicken cut into big pieces- 1kg
Sesame seeds 1/2 cup
Mustard Oil 3 tbspn
Coriander powder 2 tbspn
Ginger n garlic paste 2 tbspn
Onion finely chopped 1 cup
Green chilli 3 numbers
Turmeric powder 2 tspn
Salt to taste
Procedure
Marinate the chicken with salt and 1 tspn turmeric powder and keep aside for few minutes. Roast the sesame seeds and blend it into a fine paste. Heat oil in a pan (Kadai), add finely chopped onions and sauté for some time. Add ginger garlic paste and keep stirring for 3 minutes. Add turmeric powder and coriander powder. Add the green chillies and keep stirring Add the marinated chicken pieces and cook over low flame till chicken pieces are half done. Add hot water if required. Now add the sesame seeds paste and cook until the chicken is fully done, and the gravy reaches the desired consistency. Chicken sesame is ready to be served.
Serve with rice.
