Designer Omi Gurung will explore happy hues this summer

In our special summer series, Sikkimese designer Omi Gurung shares his plans to beat the summer heat and be a trendsetter

Summer 2015 will be about embracing and exploring happy hues. For a change (I usually wear white or earthy tones), this season I will be seen sporting pastel shades of bubble gum pink, lemon yellow, grass green, sky blue, peach, vanilla and lilac. Candy colours are the “IN” thing for apparels and accessories. These colours are cool and refreshing to the eyes.

If you are not fashion forward, you can incorporate an item to your ensemble to begin with. Once you are confident and comfortable sporting such hues, go monochrome. It’s fun to look cute!!!

Try making your own drink to quench your thirst. My recipe is simple, a bottle of plain water, add few slices of lemon, few mint and basil leaves. Refrigerate it for 15minutes and it is ready.

I will also be making my own mocktails with seasonal fruits and indulging in fresh fruits and vegetable salads this summer. Don’t forget to wear sunscreen and shades before stepping out of home. Go on, enjoy the season ahead.
