Shimu’s Kitchen: Matar ki kheer


This is a recipe from my kitchen, created for my children.


Recipe – “Matar ki kheer”



Peas 1 1/2  cup

Milk   1  1⁄2 litre

Sugar  1⁄2  cup

Chopped Pista 2 Tablespoons

Cardamon powder 1 Teaspoon

Kewra water 4-5 drops

To Garnish

Sliced Almonds

Sliced Cashew nut

Silver warq



Boil milk until reduced in medium flame

When milk reduced add the sugar and simmer 2 more minutes


Separately boil the peas and prepare a coarse paste

Add chopped pista to this paste


Now pour the peas paste to the reduced milk and add cardamom powder and Kewra water


Garnish with slices of almonds and cashew nuts and silver warq

Serve hot or cold
